Easy Homemade Almond Flour
Did you know you can make your own almond flour at home in just a few minutes? All you need are some almonds and a blender! Just place some almonds in your blender and use a low speed until the almonds reach a fine sand-like consistency – adjust the speed if necessary. Be careful not to over-blend the almonds, as you could end up with a pasty almond butter.
Making your almond flour is a perfect solution if you are on a gluten-free diet, or you just need a small amount of almond flour and don’t want to purchase a package at the store (especially if you think you might not use it all before the shelf life ends). For this reason, I recommend buying almonds in bulk. If you don’t use them all, they make a great healthy snack as almonds are a great source of protein and fiber, plus you can use them in other recipes or as a salad topping.
Another advantage to making your own almond flour is that you will be using the entire almond, including the “skin” which contains a lot of the fiber, making your recipe more nutritious.
Thank you Corinne for this beautiful video; I would love to try to make almond flour now. Would you say that this is cheaper than buying regular almond flour?
I’m glad you enjoyed the video Emily! To answer your question, of course it depends on where you shop and how often you use almond flour, but I would recommend buying almonds in bulk. If you don’t use them all for your almond flour, they make a great healthy snack and you can always use them in another recipe.
